Bugs on Gorse
We’ve been surveying hedgerows for Dormice a fair bit this month but always take the time to check on invertebrate fauna. These two beauties are from a patch of gorse on a greenfield site near Newport. The one on the left is the very striking Gorse Shieldbug Piezodorus lituratus in its second generation livery; the one on the right is a Gorse Seed Weevil Exapion ulicis.
