Celebrating Islandness

About Us

One of the greatest cartoonists of all time, the American Robert Osborn, when asked why he drew the things he did and why he commented on what he saw in the way that he did wrote:

“To further and enrich our response to our own times and our own environment.”

Well, that’s our ambition too; through little projects, big projects, partnership, advocacy and celebration.

Welcome to the Island 2000 Trust Group, a wide-angled, award-winning organization based on the Isle of Wight. We are passionate about the things that make a place memorable and distinctive, its natural and built heritage, its public spaces, its art and its people. Our projects and ideas are all about these things, about Islandness.

Island 2000 exists to explore and utilize every element of the Isle of Wight’s cultural and environmental distinctiveness in work that enhances the well-being of those who live, work and visit here.
